Richard Cook has been a fan of Elvis Presley since he was five years old and heard Elvis for the first time. With encouragement and support from his family, he began performing his tribute to Elvis at age 14 by entering his first talent contest and winning 1st Place.
Over the years, Richard performed his tribute whenever and wherever there was an opportunity, purely out of love and respect for Elvis and his music. Today, Richard has proven himself to be one of the top Elvis Tribute Artists in the region, and he continues to reach new heights in his quest to perfect what can only be described as an amazing tribute to the King. Born on Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA, Richard now lives just across the river in Shreveport, and is a proud father to his son, Taylor. Competition highlights include: Richard will make your event an exciting experience that you and your guests will always remember. He's available for public and private events including birthday parties, anniversary parties, wedding receptions, corporate parties, corporate shows and events, car shows, variety shows, schools and universities, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and any event where pleasing the crowd is your goal. Richard's show is also a great fundraiser. Richard regularly performs shows around Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas, and will travel to other states when asked. He performs for festival crowds throughout the year and has been invited back consecutively for several years. His restaurant venues are sold-out to capacity. Richard has performed under the tent at Graceland Crossing during Elvis Week since 2006. Richard performs for events and venues all over the Ark-La-Tex, including these and others: Richard is an Honorary Member of Elvis' Angels Fan Club and regularly performs for fundraisers, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Friends of the Municipal Auditorium. |
Dear Folks,
When I was five years old I heard a voice on the radio. Then I turned on the television and saw the man that went with that voice. That man was Elvis Presley. I loved the way he sang, moved, treated people, and his charismatic mannerisms. Even at that young age I knew what I wanted to do: impersonate Elvis. I used to pull out my record player and put on concerts for my family in our living room. I wanted to show the world just how much I loved Elvis. I entered my first talent show at age 14 and won 1st Place. My Mom always said, "You will make it one day, Richie." Well, now I feel that I have made it. I pay tribute to Elvis because of my admiration for him. He has always been my idol, and always will be. I always try to do my best. My tribute is out of love and respect for a man who gave so much to the world. I hope you all enjoy the site. Like Elvis said, "As long as I have a breath in this body, I'll keep singing the song."
